A Mission of Hope and Healing

A partnership between Joe and Jupiter Medical Center was inevitable. Joe wanted athletes, veterans and accident victims to have the same opportunity for hope and healing. The clinical team wanted to further investigate the rehabilitative promise of HBO therapy in those with chronic brain and neurological injury. Out of this shared mission, the Joe Namath Neurological Research Center at Jupiter Medical Center was born. Taking the promising experience of treating Namath, and paired with the financial backing of the medical center, Drs. Fox and Miskin worked with the hospital’s research team to develop a research protocol that may change the standard of care in relation to traumatic brain injury. The Joe Namath Neurological Research Center has won approval from the Food and Drug Administration for a clinical trial to evaluate whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy can reverse the effects of brain injury. The therapy is very costly and funds are needed to support this research and to ensure that those who are candidates for this therapy can participate in the trial. Your generous support of the Joe Namath Neurological Research Center will advance the search for promising treatments and may one day improve the quality of life of TBI victims and families.
